What do you teach and what's the charge?

Well, we give discounts to groups and arrange special prices for non-profits and regular returning customers so isolating an across the board figure is difficult.

However, the normative price guides are as follows:(Books are an additional $20 (ACLS text $40) for your review before, during and after the course should you desire to purchase them)

Also, you can pay when you arrive by cash, check or Visa/MasterCard.

THE COURSES:  New prices effective Dec. 9, 2010

Bloodborne Pathogens.  This course meets Day Care requirements.$15
AED training with Heartsaver Courses below.  You may be in a need to learn the Automated External Defibrillator in addition to CPR.  If you are a teacher  for K-12 you should have this as well.$15

This course will cover Adult, Child and Infant CPR with First Aid.  This course meets Department of Education and Dept of Civil Services, Dept of Health and Human Services and OSHA.

AHA Healthcare Provider or Professional CPR A course designed for those in the Health or Medical Field.  $60
AHA ACLS (Emergency Medicine)  An online version offering full certification after completing a BCLS challenge, several core cases and written test.$250

If you want to take a computer version then see us for the physical check offs?
Go to http://www.onlineaha.org/  to do part 1 of three.  When finished with the AHA online course print out the certificate and bring it to us withing 60 days.

Then see us for Part II the skills session practice AND Part III Skills Test.  The skills test shall consist of at least the following.   The skill sheets should be in an AHA text corresponding to your desired course or here on this site in CPR and ACLS preparation.

Adult 1 and 2 rescuer CPR
AED with either 1 or 2 rescuer CPR (Optional for HeartSaver)
Bag Valve Mask (HCP ONLY)
Infant 1 rescuer CPR
Infant 2 rescuer CPR (HCP ONLY)


How long is the course?


This depends on the number, experience of the participants, mood, *the day of week, time of day and of course your needs. 
*Classes on Monday add .5 hour, on Friday subtract .5 hours.)

All things being equal let's say

AHA ACLS (Emergency Medicine)2 to 36 hours
AHA Healthcare Provider course1.5 to 6 hours
AHA Professional combo CPR & ACLS            2.5 to 36 hours
AHA Lay level CPR (Adult & Peds)1.5 to 4 hours
AHA Lay First Aid1.5 to 3 hours

How long is the certification good for?

AHA certs are for 2 (two) years.  However, check with your organization/State for the exact accepted value.  Childcare Providers for example in Michigan require them to re-certify every year despite the numerical value placed on the card.
